Ottawa's standing committee of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was a first for Ontario, addressing the many differences and conflicts between rural and urban needs. The new city includes the largest rural area of any city in Canada -- drive south of the urban area for 30 minutes and you are still in the city of Ottawa!
Ottawa also has 2 Government Service Centres for convenient weekdays access to services from all levels of government - federal, provincial and municipal. They are located at city hall on Laurier Avenue and at Kanata Client Service Centre, 580 Terry Fox Drive.

There are free public Internet access terminals at all public libraries and Client Service Centres. Phone to reserve or check availability. [Home/Business Internet services]
